2014 Renuion – Temple, Texas: “One Big Happy Family, United We Stand” by Doris Voltin
The 31st Biennial Hoelscher – Buxkemper reunion will take place in Temple Texas on Saturday and Sunday, July 5 and 6, 2014. All members of the family are invited to attend the share fellowship, memories, and the etraordinary bond that our famiy has.
The reunion will take place at the Frank Mayborn Center, 3303 North 3rd Street in Temple.
The Theme selected by the reunion committee is “One Big Happy Family, United We Stand”, with a patroitic theme. We also will be celebrating 60 reunion years – the first held in 1954 in Westphalia, Texas.
Activities for Saturday include a silent auction, a display of hand-quilted quilts and needleworks done by H-B family members, souvenirs, a domino tournament (of course), children’s entertainment, memorabilia displays, a raffle, and a Saturday night dance.
Sunday morning Mass is scheduled for 9:30 am. Since this is the July 4th weekend, all military veterans will be seated in a group, and they will be given a special recognition. Of course, food and drink plans are included for each day. Remember the general family meeting before the closing of the reunion. Think about hosting the 2016 reunoin in your area.
This is your invitation to “Save the Date”, come to Temple, reminisce with family members, and welcome new members. We’re looking forward to seeing all our cousins in Temple on Juy 5 and 6, 2014.
Memorial Service: The Board of Directors voted to continue the Memorial Service at the reunion during the general meeting on Sunday. In order to do this, we ask that the names of those family members who have died since the last reunionii in June, 2012, be sent to Shirley Burk, Secetary-Treasurer per email or by mail 4090 Mountain aurel Looop, Temple, TX 76502. Please also include the age at time of death, place of death, and family branch to which this family member belonged, as well as who is submitting information.
